For just a few hours on Sunday, Mark and I were Carolina Panthers fans… Let me explain: Amity Hall (80 West 3rd Street) is THE bar for Carolina Panthers fans in NYC, but we didn’t know that when we showed up for brunch on Sunday morning.

It’s no secret that I LOVE brunch, so, when I heard there was a restaurant in Greenwich Village that served unlimited Bloody Marys and Mimosas on Sunday mornings, I knew it was a place I needed to try.

Amity Hall is a two-floor sports bar located just one block south of Washington Square Park. I was expecting more of a quaint, hidden restaurant but, from the moment you walk in its doors on a Sunday morning in the fall, you’re surrounded by aqua blue balloons and Carolina panthers jerseys. We had no idea this was a Carolina Panthers fan gathering spot (we’re, obviously, Kansas City Chiefs fans) but it made for a really fun morning/afternoon!

Amity Hall’s dim lighting and flat screen TVs definitely add to its sports bar feel, but its menu is far more than just wings and beer (even though their Wings did look awesome).

For brunch, you have the option to choose from a number of different breakfast entrées from Huevos Rancheros to the “Benny Hill” (poached eggs, corn beef hash, spinach & “angry” hollandaise on an “oversized” english muffin) to a Goat Cheese and Chive Scramble (fancy), or you can do the “Unlimited Brunch” where, for $29.95, you get any entrée and two hours of unlimited Bloody Marys and mimosas. We opted for the unlimited brunch because, let’s be honest, no one wants to limit their Bloody Mary intake.

I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy - so good - and Mark ordered the Amity Grilled Cheese and #OMG their food is delicious. The biscuits were light and fluffy while the gravy had an herb flavoring (rosemary, I think) unlike any gravy I’d eaten before, and it was topped with a perfectly cooked fried chicken breast. So, yea, very filling, especially after tipping back a few Bloody Marys!

Their Bloody Marys were simple (celery, olive, lime), but flavored to perfection - not too spicy but not too bland, just the way I like them. And the waitress kept them coming - she was the real MVP.

Overall, we had a blast at Amnity Hall! It’s a fun spot for brunch (and for making friends from North Carolina) in NYC.

"One belongs to New York instantly. One belongs to it as much in five minutes as in five years."
- Thomas Wolfe

For as long as I can remember, living in New York City has been a dream of mine...and now it's my reality! As an Army Brat, I grew up exporing the world, but I've come to find there's just no place like the Big Apple.

And as a writer, it provides an umlimited supply of inspiration!

New York City has an unmatched energy and excitment around every corner while its people are among the most hard working, inspiring and interesting people I've ever met.

Moving from a small, midwest town to the big city certainly has its challenges (especially for my small town husband who lived in the same one-stoplight town his whole life!) but every day we find more to love in this big, beautiful city on the East Coast.

New York is filled with surprises and, as a newcomer, I love nothing more than exploring and learning everything I can about this amazing place I now call "home."
